Tera's Triumph
This website tells the story of Tera Clark, our first patient at The HBO Clinic. Tera was in a nearly-fatal car wreck in February 2005 in which she received a traumatic brain injury, spinal fractures, a collapsed lung, a ruptured spleen, and a fractured left elbow, hip and knee. When we saw Tera in June 2008, she had made significant progress, but her recovery had plateaued, as she was still unable to walk, and she couldn't communicate as well as she wished. After 40 HBO treatments, along with adjunctive rehabilitation, Tera is now able to walk, using a walker and she communicates much more clearly. Due to the success she saw, Tera,25, plans to return for treatment soon.

Remember Lorraine
We knew her as "Old Angel Eyes." Lorraine Root was a beautiful young woman who was "t-boned" in a car wreck in September 2003. She became comatose, having suffered a severe traumatic-brain injury. Lorraine was in a coma for 20 months until she died May 11, 2005. However, Lorraine did regain consciousness for 15 days while she was receiving HBOT at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center. Sadly, Lorraine's insurance provider would no longer cover her therapy, and her HBOT was discontinued.
"I am convinced the HBO treatments Lorraine received at SVI, combined with a shunt, were what allowed her the 15 days of consciousness she regained," Lorraine's mother, Terrie, says. "Were you aware of that precious gift? She was talking, singing and answering questions."
Lorraine inspired Dr. Villines to open The HBO Clinic so that people like her would have access to a therapy that can work miracles.
